Who is Chris Watson?

I’m a UK guitarist who has been playing for 30+ years. I'm the lead guitarist in NWOBHM band BLACK ROSE. We did a couple of albums, a handful of singles and played every bar, dive, toilet as well as some decent venues (like The Marquee in Wardour Street, London, The Dynamo Club in Eindhoven, Holland and Newcastle City Hall; a boyhood dream for a Northerner like me!) in both the UK and Europe. We're now recording new stuff by e-mail and still sounding 80's even though our bodies aren't!

What are you doing now?

At the moment writing material for a new Black Rose album if we can convince some low-life AOR man (hello Atlantic guy!) that we're still valid at the age of 40 odd. Besides this playing whatever comes into my head and collaborating with some astounding musicians the world over. The only aim to have fun and play it well...

I also teach guitar as a full-time career at my home studio in Buckinghamshire and also in the local schools in the area. Besides that, I'm working with a few people round the globe and we write and record via e-mail. It's amazing what technology allows you to do. Finally, I'm writing and recording my own instrumental solo stuff that goes in the MP3 SECTION of this site.

What’s the site all about?

It's just a bit of fun and it also gives me a chance to put some of my recorded stuff (covers and originals) here that you can download, tell you about my gear and show you some current and old pics. There's a big section of Black Rose info and NEW MATERIAL in the MP3 SECTION. There’s also a NEWS PAGE, and a LINKS PAGE to some very talented people and my favourite gear. Most of all IT'S FREE!

Anything else I should know before I enter?

Aye...if you're posting in the message board with potions and lotions for bigger appendage or better s-x then bug-er off now you lowlife scum. Go and get a real job like removing weevils from dog poo!
